Q: What size should I buy?
A: The Peekaru Soft Shell runs a little small, so if you are on the cusp of a size (ie, sometimes small and sometimes medium), but the larger of the sizes.  When in doubt, size up!

Q:  Can I wear the Soft Shell in a back carry?
A: Yes!  Please see the Wearing Instructions tab.

Q:  How warm is this coat?
A: WARM!  The Peekaru Soft Shell is made out of Polartec Windbloc material, which is a weather resistant shell fused to a 200 weight fleece.  It is recommended for below freezing temperatures. It’s like wearing the shell of your ski coat with a full fleece vest underneath, or in simple terms – it’s warm enough to make me sweat in Idaho at Christmas!

Q:  Can I wear the Soft Shell over the Peekaru Original?
A: You betcha!  If the super warm Soft Shell isn’t warm enough for you, just put the Peekaru Original on first for an extra layer of soft warmth.

Q:  Will the the Soft Shell fit over my favorite baby carrier?
A: As long as your favorite baby carrier is a soft-structured front or back carrier.  Your baby needs to be centered on your front or back to fit the Soft Shell correctly.

Q:  How old does my baby need to be to be worn in the Soft Shell?
A: You can use the Soft Shell with any age baby because it fits OVER your baby carrier, so the age of your baby is irrelevant!

Q:  That’s a funny looking baby carrier!
A: Well, this isn’t really a question, and the Soft Shell isn’t a baby carrier!  It’s a COVER, that goes OVER your favorite baby carrier.  Think of it as the icing on the cake, not the cake itself.

Q:  Can I nurse with a Soft Shell on?
A: Yes.  You can unsnap the neck snaps and have full access to your baby and your breasts.

Q:  What is the coat made out of, and where is it made?
A: The Soft Shell is made out of a Polyester/Nylon/Spandex fabric. It is made in India, in a fair trade sewing house that was established by an upper class woman who wanted to create jobs for lower class women.  She has trained and employed hundreds of women over the past 40 years, and has watched the grand children of the original seamstresses go on to college (something that wouldn’t have been possible without the support and training that she provided to otherwise poverty stricken women!).  We are very happy and proud to be working with our sewing house; not only do they provide AMAZING quality, but they are a social project that is helping to improve the living conditions of women and mothers in India
